EPA Federal On-Scene Emergency Coordinators to Speak at Sept. 4 UDC

NARROWSBURG – The Upper Delaware Council (UDC) will host a public presentation, “US Environmental Protection Agency’s Work in the Delaware River Watershed” on Thursday, September 4, at 6:30 p.m., at the UDC’s 211 Bridge St., Narrowsburg, NY office and by Zoom.

The virtual speakers will be Myles Bartos and Carl Pellegrino.

Both are Federal On-Scene Coordinators for the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA); Bartos for Region 3 which includes the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Pellegrino for Region 2 which includes New York State.

The EPA is currently working with the National Park Service and other partners to develop an Inland Area Contingency Plan to help coordinate the response to emergency situations that impact the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River and the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.

The UDC’s monthly business meeting to follow will include reports from the Delaware River Basin Commission, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, National Park Service, and UDC Executive Director; discussion of old and new business; and public comments.

All UDC meetings are open to the public.
