Upper Delaware Scenic & Recreational River Welcomes New Administrative Officer

Beach Lake, PA – Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River welcomes Michelle Blockberger as the new Administrative Officer.  Michelle has over 15 years of experience in federal service and has served as an Administrative Assistant at Upper Delaware S&RR since 2014. During that time she had the opportunity to serve as the Acting Administrative Officer and has provided leadership to park staff on administrative matters since January 2019. As a native of Honesdale, PA and National Park Service employee she is familiar with the park, its visitors and neighbors.

Prior to working at Upper Delaware S&RR, Michelle worked in a variety of administrative support positions at Steamtown National Historic Site (Scranton, PA), Tobyhanna Army Depot (Tobyhanna, PA), and the Federal Bureau of Prisons (Waymart, PA). She attended Luzerne County Community College and Lackawanna Junior College with a focus on Business and Accounting. These experiences have provided her with a diverse base of knowledge in budget, travel, office management, human resources and other skills that prepared her for a leadership position on the Upper Delaware team.

Michelle stated, “I am so excited to join the management and administrative teams at Upper Delaware and I look forward to the challenges ahead in my new assignment in an area I love and have called home for so long”.

Michelle lives in Honesdale, PA with her husband. She has one son residing in Greeley, Colorado and enjoys spending time outdoors, spending time with family and hiking with her dog.
