UDC Seeks Nominations for 33rd Annual River Valley Awards by July 23

NARROWSBURG – The Upper Delaware Council (UDC) will accept public nominations through July 23 for its 33rd Annual Awards Ceremony coming up on September 12.

“These awards are intended to honor the contributions that individuals, organizations, communities, and government agencies have made to enhancing the quality of life or protecting the resources in the Upper Delaware River region,” said UDC Executive Director Laurie Ramie. “We would like the entire river community to be involved in the nomination process.”

Nine categories are available, in addition to the Oaken Gavel Award traditionally given by the Council to the past year’s chairperson. Nomination forms and a list of past award recipients are available on-line at www.upperdelawarecouncil.org or upon request.

The nominations may take any written form. Supporting information and a full contact for the nominee would be appreciated.

Please submit them to the UDC office at P.O. Box 192, 211 Bridge St., Narrowsburg, NY 12764, fax to (845) 252-3359, or e-mail to laurie@upperdelawarecouncil.org.

The Sunday, Sept. 12, ceremony will take place at Central House Family Resort located at 81 Milanville Road in Beach Lake, PA. The public is welcome. Festivities will include a 3 p.m. reception, 4 p.m. dinner, keynote address, and presentation of awards. While the UDC was forced to cancel the 2020 Awards Ceremony due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Council honored a slate of 32nd annual award recipients through publication of a souvenir booklet with descriptions and photos, and on-line tributes. Those honorees will be invited as special guests to attend this year’s banquet. That awards program is available on the UDC website under Publications.
