UDC Announces Honorees for Awards Ceremony on April 22
NARROWSBURG – The Upper Delaware Council, Inc. (UDC) will honor those that have enhanced the quality of life or protected the resources of the Upper Delaware River Valley at its 24th Annual Awards Ceremony on Earth Day Sunday, April 22.
Reservations at $25 per person are due by April 13 for the banquet that will take place at The Carriage House located at 3351 NYS Route 97 in Barryville.
A cash bar reception with appetizers begins at 3 p.m., during which guests can visit exhibits presented by the UDC’s 2012 “Ride the Delaware” sponsors: Kittatinny Canoes; Cedar Rapids Outfitters; and Northeast Wilderness Experience.
There will be open seating for the 4 p.m. dinner that will feature chicken cordon bleu, baked tilapia, sliced roast beef, and penne a la vodka on the buffet.
U.S. Congresswoman Nan Hayworth (NY-19th District) will deliver a keynote address prior to the resentation of awards.
The UDC will honor the following recipients:
Distinguished Service Award – U.S. Congressman Maurice D. Hinchey, Jr. (NY-22nd District)
Robin M. Daniels Memorial Lifesaving Award – Peter Van Slyke,
Deposit, NY
Partnership Award – Common Waters Fund, The Pinchot Institute for Conservation
Community Service Award – Philip D. Chase, Port Jervis, NY
Outstanding Community Achievement Award – Town of Tusten, NY
Recreation Achievement Award – Kittatinny Canoes
