UDC Announces Event Dates
NARROWSBURG – The Upper Delaware Council, Inc. (UDC) announces dates for three upcoming events which are all open to the public.
On Sunday, April 19, the UDC will sponsor its 21st Annual Awards Ceremony at Central House Family Resort in Beach Lake, PA. A reception with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will begin at 3 p.m., followed by a buffet dinner at 4 p.m., keynote speaker address, and presentation of awards to those who have protected or enhanced the resources of the Upper Delawa
re Scenic and Recreational River Valley. Tickets are $24, with reservations due by April 10.
On June 21-27, the 15th Annual Delaware River Sojourn will take place. This year’s theme is “No One Left Inside.” The Sojourn combines daily canoeing and kayaking with educational programs, historical and natural interpretation, and optional camping. Most meals are provided. Registrants receive a souvenir T-shirt. The Upper Delaware section will offer an afternoon of paddling from Pond Eddy to Staircase Access on Sunday, June 21, following a kick-off luncheon at Kittatinny Canoes’ River Beach Campground in Milford, PA. Day 2 on Monday, June 22, will resume with paddling from Staircase Access back to the campground.
The daily registration fee is $60 for adults and $40 for children under age 16 if reserved by June 1, plus
a one-time $5 fee for insurance; add $10 to the fee after that early bird date. Itineraries, event guidelines, and

On Sunday, August 2, the UDC will host its 21st Annual Family Raft Trip. This year’s route will be a scenic eight-mile section between accesses at Ten Mile River and Barryville. Participants will meet between 9-10 a.m. at Kittatinny Campgrounds’ Luke’s Landing Base in Barryville to sign in and catch the shuttle bus to the Ten Mile River put-in. Minimum raft occupancy is four people; parties of less than four will be combined at the UDC’s discretion.
The deeply-discounted rate is $20 for adults and teens, and $12 for children ages 11 and under. Reservations are due by July 27.
