One side of a tri-fold brochure for the Town of Deerpark, New York

Town of Deerpark Updates Brochure With Upper Delaware Council Grant

NARROWSBURG – The Town of Deerpark has created a new map brochure with funding contributed by an Upper Delaware Council (UDC) Fiscal Year 2025 Technical Assistance Grant.

The UDC awarded $3,000 toward a $4,155 project to produce “A Map of the Town of Deerpark, Orange County, New York … Gateway to the Upper Delaware National Scenic & Recreational River.”

The full-color, tri-fold brochure replaces outdated information and visuals from the former 2011 publication, for which the UDC had also provided grant support.

The Deerpark Town Board retained Media Solstice Marketing & Public Relations of Port Jervis, NY to work on the update and graphic design with town representatives including Deerpark Town Clerk Florence Santini and Town of Deerpark 1863 Schoolhouse Museum Chairperson Norma Schadt. The Orange County Planning Department’s Geographic Information Systems division provided mapping services.

A total of 7,500 copies were printed and are available to the public.

Visit the Deerpark Town Hall at 420 US Route 209 in Huguenot or call (845) 856-2210 to inquire about obtaining the brochure.

Established in 1798, Deerpark is the second largest town in Orange County. The brochure features points of natural and historic interest, major recreational attractions, the nationally-designated Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River, state-designated Upper Delaware Scenic Byway and the NYS Rt. 97 Hawk’s Nest Drive, hiking trails, river accesses, parks, cemeteries, police and fire stations, and municipal buildings.

This is the second to be finished of three 2025 Technical Assistance Grants (TAG) valued at $13,000 that the UDC approved by an October 3, 2024 resolution with a completion date of August 22, 2025.

From 1988 to 2025, the UDC has awarded $959,463 to support 267 projects by its PA and NY municipal members that advance the goals and objectives of the 1986 River Management Plan for the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River.
