Senator Martucci to Speak at UDC Sept. 12 Awards Banquet

BEACH LAKE, PA – New York State Senator Mike Martucci (R-42) will deliver the keynote address at the Upper Delaware Council’s 33rd Annual River Valley Awards on Sunday, September 12.

The public banquet will take place at Central House Family Resort, 81 Milanville Road, Beach Lake, PA. Tickets are $30, with advance reservations needed by Friday, Sept. 3.

Festivities get underway with a reception at 3 p.m. and dinner served at 4 p.m.

Senator Martucci will speak at approximately 5 p.m., preceding the presentation of awards to those who have contributed to the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River region’s quality of life and protection of resources.

The slate of 2021 honorees is available at www.upperdelawarecouncil.org, along with a downloadable reservation form and announcement of the dinner menu.

Michael R. Martucci was elected in 2020 to his first term representing the New York State 42nd Senate District, which comprises all of Sullivan County and parts of Delaware, Orange, and Ulster Counties.

He was named the Ranking Member of the Senate Standing Committees on Disabilities and Commerce, Economic Development, and Small Business.

Mike grew up in Westtown and is a lifelong resident of Orange County, NY. He obtained his Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees in Business Administration from Marist College after graduating with honors from SUNY Orange.

As an entrepreneur and small business job-creator, Mike started Quality Bus Service at just 22 years of age. With a startup business loan and his grandmother by his side, Mike began driving a school bus and providing transportation services for the Greenwood Lake Union Free School District.

He grew the company to over 500 employees and more than 350 school buses before selling it in 2018 so he could spend more time with his family and focus on giving back to his community.

In 2015-2017, Mike was elected president of the New York School Bus Contractors Association and also forged strong partnerships with New York’s school transportation unions in Albany.

Mike, his wife Erin, son Mike Jr., and daughters Elizabeth and Catherine live in New Hampton and have a family farm in Westtown. He enjoys volunteering for his church and is a supporter of the Community Foundation of Orange & Sullivan. Mike is a member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer for the SUNY Orange Foundation. He chairs the SUNY Orange Golfing for Scholarships event to raise money for the athletic scholarship fund.

Mike and his family were directly impacted by the tragic events of 9/11 and established the Michelle Rene Bratton Foundation to provide college scholarships for children living in Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties.
