Cochecton Installs LED Outdoor Lights with UDC State Grant
NARROWSBURG – The Upper Delaware Council (UDC) presented the Town of Cochecton with a check in the amount of $3,125 on April 18 representing its share of a $25,000 Aid to Localities funding program that Senator John J. Bonacic secured for the UDC’s eight New York State member towns in the FY 2009-2010 budget.
The Town of Cochecton purchased LED outdoor lighting fixtures from Galdieri Electrical Distribution Company of Scranton, PA to install at its new Cochecton Town Hall facility in Lake Huntington.
The lights provide safety-enhancing illumination for the parking lot and entrance way, while limiting light pollution. The total cost of the project was $5,773.
The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation’s Contract and Grant Development Unit is administering the funding on behalf of the state. From FY 2000 through this grant round, Senator Bonacic has secured $390,000 for Upper Delaware River Valley town projects that promote tourism, improve town-owned facilities, or enhance river access through contracts administered by the UDC.
