Berlin Township Completes UDC Grant

NARROWSBURG –Berlin Township completed the first project of the Upper Delaware Council’s (UDC) latest round of Technical Assistance Grants and received a reimbursement check for $683.99 on Dec. 18.

The Pennsylvania municipality obtained township tax maps from the Wayne County Assessment Office and purchased a rolling blueprint stand to display them.
The localized availability of the complete map set will facilitate township officials and the public in accessing property ownership and land use information. Berlin Township’s grant was one of nine projects totaling $25,000 approved by the UDC on Oct. 3, 2013 for Fiscal Year 2014 (Oct. 1, 2013-Sept. 30, 2014).

Technical Assistance Grants (TAGs) are available competitively to the UDC’s 13 member towns and townships, and five encompassing county governments in NY and PA, for non-construction projects that address goals and needs identified in the River Management Plan for the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River.

Since its inception in 1988, the UDC has awarded a cumulative total of $745,394 to fund 219 projects through the TAG program.

The current deadline for project completions is August 22, 2014.
