NYS DEC Chief Resiliency Officer To Speak at August 7 UDC Meeting

NARROWSBURG – The Upper Delaware Council (UDC) will host a virtual public presentation, “New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Chief Resiliency Officer Position” on Thursday, August 7, at 6:30 p.m.

Please note the new, recurring start time for the first Thursday monthly meeting which takes place at the UDC’s 211 Bridge St., Narrowsburg, NY office and by Zoom.

Suzanna Randall was appointed the NYS DEC’s first Chief Resiliency Officer on August 10, 2023.

Randall is responsible for administering the State’s landmark Clean Water, Clean Air and Green Jobs Environmental Bond Act of 2022, leading the development and implementation of all major components of the program.

Most recently, Randall served as Deputy Director of Project Delivery for the Office of Resilient Homes and Communities, formerly the governor’s Office of Storm Recovery.

Additional experience includes serving as Special Projects and Sustainability Coordinator with the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation, where she led the award-winning Green Innovation Grant Program, and Water Resources Planner at Philadelphia Water Department’s Office of Watersheds.

Randall is a graduate of Oberlin College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies and Women’s Studies, and received a Master of Science degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from the University of Arizona.

The UDC’s monthly business meeting to follow will include reports from the Delaware River Basin Commission, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, National Park Service, and UDC Executive Director; discussion of old and new business; and public comments.

All UDC meetings are open to the public.
